“Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares…”

– H.P. Lovecraft, “Dagon”

Gods of the Deep Ones

Father Dagon and Mother Hyrda are two giant sea monsters that claim the sea as their home and kingdom. They are worshiped by the Deep Ones, humanoid fish creatures that will do the bidding of their masters. It is not just the Deep Ones that follow them, however. Humans will listen to Father Dagon and Mother Hydra, as well. Their human followers can hear the pair through their dreams, where they can be manipulated and controlled.

Devil Reef

Off the shore of Innsmouth, Devil Reef is a series of black crags. Beneath Devil Reef is a deep trench that leads to the Deep One city of Y’ha-nthlei, where Mother Hydra dwells. In this vast city of high towers and temples of worship, there is a large vault containing gold and treasure. These riches are used to lure humans into succumbing to Mother Hydraa and Father Dagon’s wishes.

Esoteric Order of Dagon

Father Dagon’s lair lies deep below the surface of the town of Innsmouth. It is directly below the headquarters of the Esoteric Order of Dagon, an organization dedicated to the worship of Dagon. There, they carry out rites in honor of Dagon and initiate new members into their cult. The hope is to release Father Dagon, along with his consort, Mother Hydra, and drown the earth under the seas.
