Arkham recovers from flooding with new businesses and new opportunities!

Waterfront Wonderland
While the Waterfront District has been the subject of unfortunate headlines recently, not all the news is bad. Arkhamites who make it a practice to avoid the area are missing out on the exciting transformations taking place. It might well be said that Waterfront is leading the charge in the renewal of Arkham after the recent hardships.
A look at Water Street and Garrison Street is ample evidence of the renewal heralding a new era to the Waterfront District. The shops are cleaner and more appealing than what has hitherto been the norm, including a new General Store, an antiques establishment, and even a new café called Peark’s Place for those seeking a different establishment to Velma’s Diner. The homes, rebuilt or entirely new, are now desirable. Artists have been drawn by their affordability and have brought new vibrancy to the area. Why, even an art display by new up-and-coming talent, Lina Husserl, has been announced in the district!
Prospective residents need not fear an excess of bohemianism, however. The best homes are priced commensurately with their desirability. These prices, while still reasonable compared to some other districts of Arkham, ensure that the residents are also desirable.
A Busy Day On the Factory Floor
A sterling example of this rebirth is New Horizons Industry. This paper has been on record as welcoming the arrival of the New Horizons Meat Packing Facility, and the faith placed in Howard Wilkes and his enterprise has been amply rewarded. Work at such a plant may not be appealing to all, but the fact remains that it provides steady, gainful employment to the industrious members of the working class. “You work for me,” says Mr. Wilkes, “and you work for life. This is where you shape your future.”
During a tour of the New Horizons facility, this reporter was introduced to Mrs. Julia Stern, a model employee and stand-up wife dedicated to industry. “I love working here,” Mrs. Stern said, her eyes shining with enthusiasm. “I spend more time here than I do at home. If I could be here all day and all night, I would.”
A hearty well-done to Mrs. Julia Stern! There speaks the new, indomitable spirit of the Waterfront District!
