The Thompson Files: Source Material for “Masters of Magic”

Arkham Horror: The Roleplaying Game‘s bestiary, The Thompson Files, gathers firsthand accounts and reference materials from investigators who have faced unspeakable horrors, and now you can read some of the source material for those chapters for yourself.

This week’s source materials come from chapter seven, “Masters of Magic.” In The Thompson Files, magician and collector of arcane lore Dexter Drake describes some of the wizards, thralls, and magical mutations he’s come up against in his investigations, and Dexter speculates as to the eldritch source of their powers. The sorcerous dust known as the Powder of Ibn-Ghazi (page 78) is one of the few things known to help combat some of these arcane adversaries, and game masters hoping to include the powder in their Arkham Horror RPG campaigns can now offer the recipe to players with the below printable handout. (Gathering the required components could become an adventure unto itself…)
